Announcement from Heavy Days In Doomtown – a DIY celebration of all things slow and heavy, Copenhagen, Denmark 1st – 4th May 2014:
Tonight we are presenting one of the absolute heavyweights of next year´s festival. Despite the tragic loss of bass player Mike Boone earlier this year, Cape Fear´s SOURVEIN will still be heading out to Europe next spring! We are extremely proud and excited to host such a legendary sludge band at HDDT III!!!
SOURVEIN led by singer T-Roy Medling will be embarking as headliners on a European trail of destruction to celebrate their 20th annivesary along with revived underground doom legends GRAVES AT SEA. Sourvein destroyed Europe on their last tour in 2011 where they also headlined the Afterburner at Roadburn Festival.
SOURVEIN have been around longer than most of the bands the scene have to offer today, and they have proven time and time again to be heavyweights in the game. Their discography is impressingly filled with crushing release after release year after year, and despite several lineup changes, T-Roy have managed to keep this beast of a slugde band alive and kicking! With slumbering grooves and muddy guitars T-Roy filthy and gritty vocals makes Sourvein stand out from the crowd, and be one of the most vicious sludge bands out there.
