Pressrelease 12.12.2012: Sludge attack over Europe 2013; Graves at Sea (us) / Meth Drinker (nz) – first European performances ever!

Killtown Bookings and Raw Birth Records are proud to present for the first time ever in Europe; Graves at Sea (us) and Meth Drinker (nz)!! This package will kick Europe´s ass in May 2013 when it hits the road after their first performances at the second edition of Heavy Days In Doomtown in Copenhagen, Denmark! They will set out for a 2 week tour together hitting cities all across mainland Europe. Meth Drinker will continue another week with the company of Danish Dead Instrument.

Legendary sludge outfit Graves at Sea got together earlier this year after a 4-year hiatus to record for an upcoming split release with Loss. Their much anticipated reunion and new material will be followed by this first tour over the sea to lay Europe in dust!

Meth Drinker
from New Zealand is a newer upcoming sludge band with a well-recieved vinyl re-release of their debut album on Danish Raw Birth Records that has echoed in the doom/sludge communities across the world. They will also set out for their first trip over to the other side of the globe with their uncompromising aggressive take on sludge.

Formed in 2002, originally hailing from Phoenix, AZ and now residing in Oakland, California, and Portland , Oregon, Graves at Sea play a blackened doom/ sludge. In 2007, the band decided to call it quits. They played their last show January 11th, 2008 at Slim’s in San Francisco. In 2012 they got back together again, with Chiyo (Noothgrush) and Greg (Brainoil) and recorded for a split with Loss. With another line up change, Graves at Sea is now a mostly Portland based band and will be working on new material.

Meth Drinker come from Wellington, New Zealand and have been playing raw, aggressive, disturbing Sludge since 2010. Inspired by classic sludge bands from the 90’s like Grief, Noothgrush, Corrupted, Iron Monkey, Eyehategod and Dystopia. They released a debut self-titled LP in 2011 and a split 12″ with fellow New Zealand Sludge band Open Tomb in 2012. The self-titled 12″ was re-released by Raw Birth Records in 2012. Meth Drinker have an upcoming 7″ as well as split 12″ with British band, Moloch which should be out by HDDT 2013. Keep an eye out for Meth Drinker shows throughout Europe in May 2013.
