Antediluvian is a Canadian extreme metal band formed in 2006, initially based in Guelph, Ontario, before relocating to Edmonton, Alberta. The band’s name refers to the period before the biblical flood, reflecting their thematic focus on chaos, occultism, prehistory, destruction, philosophy, and quantum physics.
Antediluvian’s music is characterized by a blend of dissonant elements and strange time signatures, creating a sound that is both chaotic and atmospheric. Their work has been described as ritualized, hallucinogenic, intergalactic, and xeno-bestial, utilizing an alien array of effects to add a spacey aura to their sound. This sense of otherness is compounded by their ghastly stage appearance and the abstract projections they use for live performances.
In 2025 Canada’s Antediluvian re-emerges from the primordial ooze with their first live performances in Europe since 2019, and worldwide since 2022. Their current live set will be comprised of several never played before songs, from the various eras of the band’s existence. Expect the unexpected, as each appearance of the band becomes more distinct and distorted than the previous. Quantum abominations abound!
