Forged in Finland by underground veteran Christbutcher (Maveth, Excommunion,
Dethroned [CO], ex-Nightbringer session), PROSCRIPTION has emerged as one of the most
formidable forces in Blackened Death Metal. Combining savage intensity, occult
atmosphere, and disciplined execution, the band channels the spirit of classic Death Metal
through a distinctly sinister and modern vision.
Released through the legendary Dark Descent Records, PROSCRIPTION’s debut album
Conduit quickly established the band within the international underground, selling out its
initial CD and vinyl pressings and earning widespread acclaim for its violent yet immersive
sound. The band’s impact was immediate enough that Dark Descent broke a temporary halt
on signing new acts specifically to bring PROSCRIPTION into their roster.
The band further expanded its reach with the release of its sophomore full-length, Desolate
Divine, which pushed PROSCRIPTION deeper into darker and more aggressive territory
while further cementing their reputation within the international extreme metal scene.
PROSCRIPTION has since carried its ritualistic live assault across Finland and Europe,
appearing at festivals including Mystic Festival, Helsinki Deathfest, Kuolio Festival, Killtown
Deathfest, and Braincrusher In Hell Festival, while continuing to build momentum through
European touring and an uncompromising live reputation.
In 2025, the band entered a new era with the addition of acclaimed producer and guitarist
Kalle Laanto (Sonic Violence Studios), further sharpening PROSCRIPTION’s already
devastating sound and strengthening the band’s evolving sonic identity.
The band continues to move forward with new material already in development, including
an upcoming split 12” release with Germany’s Purgatory, scheduled for late 2026 / early
2027 as a joint release between Dark Descent Records and War Anthem Records.
Now represented by Killtown Bookings, PROSCRIPTION continues its ascent through the
international extreme metal underground with unwavering dedication to death, chaos, and
ritual.
